In an introductory computer class at college we were presented with the opportunity to compose a project using a Raspberry Pi. Which is basically a mini computer that can be used to create all sorts of fun products. In order to complete this project on your own I am going to list the items you will need below while also linking resource pages that will help you along the way.
- You are going to need the Raspberry Pi Kit. This includes the little computer, HDMI cords, keyboard, and USB storage. - You will need a monitor or TV to actually hook the project up to. Anything with a HDMI port should work. I assume many of you have this product. - You will need a game controller that connects by USB any controller you have at home will work such as a PS4 or xbox controller.
After you have the components it is time to start to build and program the project so that you can start playing the old school games of your childhood. So, after you have the RetroPie all set up you will find that it is really cool. You can play a bunch of Retro games on it like old Nintendo games. I have been playing Mario on mine and it is a really fun throw back. Here is a picture of me playing.
This project was super fun, to learn some basic computer concepts along with playing some old school games was a win win for me. If you love video games and playing old school ones this will be a project you will really like.
