For my project this semester I ultimately decided to go with the gaming system RetroPie. In a nutshell the Retropie is a gaming system installed on the Raspberry Pi. (you can see a preview of its installation on my tv above)
Materials Needed
- Raspberry Pi
- MicroSD card
- HDMI Cord
- Power Cord (2.5 AMP recommended)
- USB Keyboard
- Ethernet Cord (if your version of Pi does not have wifi)
- USB Game controller (I used PS4 but it is up to you)
- Computer to download the images needed for the pi/retropie
*If you don’t have a majority of the items needed you can purchase a canakit on amazon that includes the Pi, MicroSD card, HDMI cord, Power Cord, and Case.* Link Below

What is RetroPie?
In more detail RetroPie is a gaming system I have installed on my Raspberry Pi that allows me to play old school games from many systems such as Gameboy, Nintendo 64, Playstation etc…The thing that makes RetroPie so special is that you can download and play pretty much any classic game you can think of. (Donkey Kong, Mario, Frogger, etc…)
My Experience
I initially did have quite a few struggles because of my lack of experience in computers but after some trial and error I was able to figure it out using the sources I have linked above. The hardest part for me personally is getting specific games downloaded.
