Im taking a computer class and one of the requirements is to make a Raspberry Pi into anything that you want. I have decided to make mine into a RetroPie. A RetroPie is where you can put a bunch of old gaming systems and games into one system and play it where ever you want.
The items listed below are required to make this project:
Hardware:
- Raspberry Pi (3 or 3B+)
- Raspberry Pi Case (optional but recommended)
- MicroSD Card
- MicroSD Card Reader
- HDMI cable
- Television or Computer Monitor- really any screen with HDMI or RCA ports
- Wifi Dongle or Ethernet Cable
- Micro USB Power Supply
- USB Keyboard and Mouse
- USB Game Controller of your choice

The RetroPie allows users to play whatever game that they want from older consules such as Nintendo 64, Nintendo Entertainment System and Sony PlayStation just to name a few. There are many other ones that can be played on the RetroPie. A few of my favorite games to play are Super Mario World and Super Mario Bros 3.
I really liked about this project is that I can add whatever games I want to it, when ever I want to. All it takes is downloading some emulators and ROM’s. What I would recommend is that you do your research, I had to restart my project a few times (I was very new to this) because I didn’t read fully or pay attention to what I was doing. Not all games will work, some might lag or have other issues.
