I learned about the Raspberry Pi through a project I am working on in school. This project required me to teach myself about the Raspberry Pi and to build a project using it. Ultimately, I chose to build a Retro Pie.
Supply List
The basic supplies you will need to build a Retro Pie project are:
- Raspberry Pi 3
- HDMI Cord
- Key board
- USB card
- Power cord
- Controller
How To
The first thing you need to do is download NOOBS software in order to get your Raspberry Pi up and running. You can find it here: https://www.raspberrypi.org/downloads/noobs/

I suspect that you will spend many, many hours enjoying the games available on Retro Pie. I have been unable to fine tune my Retro Pie machine at this moment, but once I have it all ironed out I will update my post.
