For my Raspberry Pi project, I chose to do RetroPie. The RetroPie allows you to play Arcade, home-console, and classic PC games. RetroPie is a software library that is used to emulate retro video games on the Raspberry Pi.

The physical components for this project included the Raspberry Pi, a flash drive, game controller, Micro SD card, SD card reader, HDMI cord, and a monitor/TV. To help create this project, I used a YouTube beginner’s guide to setting up RetroPie video and instructions provided by the RetroPie website to help guide me through the setup.

The RetroPie is game emulation system that allows you to play many games such as Play Station’s Sonic and Play Station’s Crash Bandicoot. To download different games, safe roms had to found on websites. There was a very large selection of safe roms that were available for download. I very much enjoyed this project and would recommend it for other students. For beginners like me, who don’t deal with computer systems, this project is easy to set up and create. I enjoy playing all the games I had downloaded. My only recommendation is to download Raspbian first and use that to download RetroPie.
