My overall purpose for my project is to set up Minecraft on a Raspberry Pi. Going into this with the knowledge that there is a specific version of Minecraft made for the Raspberry Pi, this turned out to be very interesting to set up and configure to my liking.

For my project, aside from the Raspberry Pi kit itself, I didn’t need anything for this particular project. In general, all I needed was a mouse, keyboard, monitor, and everything contained in Raspberry Pi kit. In the Raspberry Pi itself, I only needed to look at a couple tutorials on how to set up my project in order to accomplish my plans.

What specifically my project does is it allows me to play Minecraft: Pi Edition on my Raspberry Pi. It differs much from modern forms of Minecraft, leaning towards being more akin to the very early mobile edition of Minecraft. But, overall, it’s still relatively the same experience.

As shown in the image, there are some noticeable differences between Minecraft: Pi Edition and modern versions, such as the lack of a hunger-bar or the old textures of the wood. However, it generally still works the same as more modern versions of Minecraft.

To conclude, this was a very interesting project to delve into. Some parts of setting up the project were difficult to figure out, as I had to iron out some wrinkles in my plan such as bugs or glitches. Luckily, I eventually managed to figure those out on my own. In the end, I don’t regret pursuing this project. Prior to this, I had never so much as touched a Raspberry Pi before, but now, I know how it works as much as anyone. However, I suppose the part of the project that I enjoyed the most was seeing the differences between Minecraft: Raspberry Pi Edition and modern Java and Bedrock versions. I suppose it was interesting to see how much the game has changed since the Pi edition was created. For anyone looking for a project that gives you a new perspective in how different the same thing can be on a different Operating System, I couldn’t recommend this project more.
