Did someone say RetroPie?

For a class project my goal was to build a RetroPie. With many options for the RaspberryPi, the reason I choose the RetroPie is because I thought it would be a fun project for my son to try and play when it was complete. Here are a list of items that I used.

Hardware

• MicroSD Card
• MicroSD Card Reader
• HDMI cable
• Television with HDMI ports
• 5V 2A Micro USB Power Supply
• USB Keyboard
• USB SNES Game Controller
• RaspberryPi

In case you are new to RetroPie, let me give you a little brief overview of what it is. Want to play a throw back game from your time in the arcade? Have an old NES game that no longer reads in your game system? Well you can get a blast from your past with building your very own RetroPie!

Building the RetroPie had its challenges for me. If you are like me and computers, computer cords etc are completely foreign to me and most of what I could find for instructions were for someone that had some type of knowledge before you began. But good news! With a little digging and a lot of determination you can do it! I also used the RetroPie website https://retropie.org.uk/docs/First-Installation/ to get all of my initial downloads. There are lot’s of disclaimers regarding copyright laws. It is not legal to download ROMS of games that are not free or games not owned by you. So when you are choosing a game to add to your RetroPie makes sure that you do your research for which games work best for you.
