I chose RetroPi as my project because, as someone who enjoys to play video games, I thought that it would be right up my alley.

Requirements for the project:

  1. Raspberry Pi (kit recommended)
  2. Power supply
  3. Micro SD Card and card reader
  4. HDMI cable
  5. Controller
  6. Monitor

A video that helped me complete this project is this one here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2QcC2GmV9Ew.

After downloading the required applications at https://retropie.org.uk/download/ and https://www.balena.io/etcher/ , it was pretty easy to follow the steps to download games to play. Being a good Pac-Man player, I tried a Pac-Man ROM that I thought was pretty enjoyable.

It was fun to set up this OG game that I grew up on on the RasberryPi. My dad, who has been a computer fanatic forever, found this project very enjoyable as well. He was a big help in getting this project working. I was intimidated at first to do this project because I haven’t worked with computers like this before, but thankfully, there is a lot of information on how to set up Retro-Pi. Overall, I enjoyed this Retro-Pi project.
